Whether clothing, your jewelry or your home surroundings ... You can bring the essence of Yoga into your Life!

I can tell you what I think the yoga look and yoga lifestyle are all about ...

this does reflect my bias ... naturally. But if you're looking around for a concept, then perhaps this is a starting ground!

When I think of the Yoga lifestyle ... what stands out is that through the practice of yoga I've become more energized, vital, strong, clear thinking and at peace with the turmoil's that happen in my life ... better able to cope and let the anxiety and tension go.

This is what I call the Yoga lifestyle and it translates itself into the way I dress, and what I choose to surround myself with.

Keep in mind that what we perceive to be a Yoga lifestyle is a very westernized concept

Being more calm and secure within myself I find that I am consciously choosing eco products in my yoga apparel and in my home furnishings. I am seeking the natural and organic products. Cotton and hemp products rank highly!

I believe that small changes in our habits can contribute to healthier minds and bodies.

I believe that the benefits of a sensible diet, practicing yoga, maybe in conjunction with an exercise regime and living simply, I see this as less clutter), will have a profound effect on our life satisfaction.

The clothes I choose (whenever I can) are predominately organic and eco friendly. The focus is on comfortable but chic and individualistic, always with quality in mind.

I look for unique and creative yoga clothes.

The Yoga Look is not just for when you practice yoga but for everyday life!

I'm finding wonderful designs which reflect the ease and comfort of yoga 'practice' clothes but with the wearability and style of work and day wear.

Just imagine being that comfortable in your everyday life yet looking great in 100% organic cotton shirts and blouses. Not to mention the wash and wear trousers and skirts that you can get!

I have also found a place that do the best organic baby and children clothes, all with that 'yoga' feel of pure comfort and self expression.

That simplicity in life translates to the choices in bed linen as well, clear crisp 100% organic cotton. Just as 100% cotton is cool and comfortable to wear in your yoga practice so is the feeling of cool comfortable linen to sleep in.

The way you choose to decorate your home gives the onlooker a glimpse into your innermost state of mind. The yoga lifestyle is one which seeks serenity yet is functional and attractive.

When it comes to that quintessential yoga look in furnishings and decor - natural, eco friendly is the way to go

Such furnishings give the surroundings that clean, crisp, fresh and thoroughly chic look. ....... And you can combine them with so many other things, like exotic silk throws from Thailand in vivid colors or beautifully woven silks from India .... the choices are huge. Doesn't matter how you combine them .... your choice will always be individualistic.

When it comes to choosing those sorts of furnishings I find that Gaiam has a fantastic range. Naturally, they're not the only ones.

There are also some spectacular places which sell yoga art and sculptures.

The forms reflect yoga poses among other things but yet are so modern - as sculptures they are absolutely beautiful and are magnificent as center pieces or perhaps instead of a vase.

I quite often use the sculpture as a figure to focus on when I try and relax the mind and meditate ... something akin to the simplicity of a Zen garden perhaps?
