Dispel the Myths associated with Tantra Yoga and go beyond established boundaries

Do you know anything about Tantric Yoga or is it a taboo for you?

It has been suggested that Western Tantra "is a blend of Sacred Sexuality, the Kama Sutra teachings, modern psychology, and eastern philosophy. Using a variety of tools, supreme among them sexuality, the Tantric masters considered the ultimate goal to be the dissolving of the ego and complete union with the divine energy that is within us all and throughout all of nature." Apply some of the teachings to your relationships and see if it doesn't take you that one step closer. Read more about Western Tantra.

Have you just discovered your pregnant and need to know what poses and positions are good for you and your baby?

Pregnancy yoga provides both physical and mental benefits in both the prenatal and postnatal stages of pregnancy. When the appropriate yoga positions or asanas are put together with a cardiovascular exercise such as walking ... (and I mean walking not just a stroll),... yoga can be an ideal way to stay in shape during your pregnancy. It keeps you limber, tones your muscles, and improves your balance and circulation, with little, if any, impact on your joints.

Yoga is also beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe deeply and relax. This alone is hugely beneficial as you face the physical demands of labor, birth, and motherhood. Read more about Pregnancy Yoga.

Are you in need of some postnatal relaxation? Do you need to feel that your body is your own again.

Well postnatal yoga can help you find that connection with your self again.

Or are you under pressure to get back to "normal" again after having your baby? Postnatal yoga needs to be gentle and considered. If you're breastfeeding then your tendons and ligaments are soft and deep stretching may not be advisable. But gentle yoga is advisable and can be fitted into your daily routine. Or perhaps you wish to bond more strongly with your baby by doing baby yoga. It doesn't matter which of these reasons weighs more strongly, yoga can help you find that connection.

Men, Women and Children can benefit from the therapeutic and holistic effects of yoga

I was speaking to my yoga teacher recently and he was telling me that yoga is no longer predominately the domain of women.

Instinctively, I think women have been faster to recognize the benefits that a yoga practice brings. Whether you suffer from stress related to the workplace or stress related to the home-front, it really doesn't matter. Yoga can calm you and reduce the stress you feel. The ancillary effects of toning and shaping the body are added benefits .... like icing on a cake! Read more for a healthy life.

Due to today's workforce pressures men are now slowly finding their way to the practice of yoga. It's not just that more men are coming in to yoga studios but that the corporations are finding that the practice of yoga can help reduce stress, alleviate back-pain and stimulate concentration. It's insightful that some corporations are even offering yoga classes for their employees.

The men who practice yoga at the studio that I go to, do it for a number of reasons.

However, what I often hear is that it reduces their feeling of stress, that regular practice has reduced their blood pressure, they don't have that feeling of tenseness through their neck muscles, it helps them to sleep after a stressful day and many other reasons....It's really amazing how yoga can have both a preventative effect and in some instances be a cure. Read more about how yoga can help eliminate stress.

Yoga for Kids helps them stay focused, limber and reduces the stress that many children, and teenagers are under. Their bodies are no different, they get back-pain from sitting and studying or working on the computer, their neck muscles tense in the same way. If they're exposed to yoga from the start then they have the tools at hand to cope with the stresses that life presents.

For instance, one of my acquaintances says, "I have a very active 4 year old who absolutely loves doing Yoga Kids. I have noticed a change in her behavior when she does Yoga Kids. She is calmer and more focused."  Read more about yoga for children.
